I had the incredible privilege of spending three days up in the Catskill Mountains of New York with Lydia & Micaela and their closest 100+ friends, and the whole weekend was an incredible experience. I’ve gotten to know Lydia and Micaela over the past year or so, and they’re two of the most kind, loving, warm-hearted women I have the honor of knowing.
They eloped, but still wanted to celebrate with all of their friends – which after getting to know many of the people that celebrated with them this weekend, I totally understand why. So many of their loved ones truly stepped up to the plate – between helping in any way they could to make sure the weekend celebration went seamlessly, or the solid hour-long block of heartfelt toasts to the couple (and then more, later in the evening!). The tight-knit community of love and support that these two women have around them is truly inspiring.
It was a weekend jam-packed-full of love, pride, celebration, community, support, friendship, frisbee, campfires + smores, jello shots, great music, delicious food, and adventure – and I hope the rest of their lives together is the same. (Just with more cats.)
One of their best friends surprised them with a serenade during our portrait session!
