This beautiful May evening, Rachel and Eric (and I) hiked up a mountain, tested their new hammock, and enjoyed the sunset in celebration of their love.
It was the perfect anecdote of why I think every couple should have engagement photos taken: these two are often separated by thousands of miles – here to California – and they had spent the last couple of months apart. Every moment they can spend together is precious, so this was an opportunity to spend an evening away, go somewhere new, watch the sunset, and spend some quality time focusing on their love for each other and enjoying the present. It’s an intimate, adventurous, playful experience – and to top it all off, all of those feelings and experiences are preserved in photographs, so they don’t fade.
When else does that happen?
